Last night, in Manchester, CIA presented trophies to our 2023 Chemical Industry Awards winners. It was an evening that celebrated the success of the UK chemical industry and performance excellence at the company, site and individual level. The event clearly demonstrated what this truly innovative industry does for the whole of the UK and beyond.
Steve Elliot, Chief Executive of CIA, said in his welcome speech, “Time and again in history when the chemical industry has been tested – whether it be the need for pandemic solutions, the ability to trade in a post-Brexit world, the global economic clouds impacting every part of manufacturing - it is this industry that continuously delivers. We always come through – and while things are certainly tough at the moment – I have no doubt that thanks to the dedication of all of you and your workforces - we shall do so again”. Steve continued, “Thank you for what you have done, for what you are doing and for what you will continue to do for your company, your industry and for this country”.
The winners received some amazing trophies made by Year 10 students at Bridgewater High School, Warrington, who made them as part of their CGSE Design. Thank you to CIA member company Solvay for sponsoring them.
On the night, the eleven awards were presented by the event host, Justin Moorhouse, and the award sponsors.
Congratulations to this year’s winners!
